Shanghai – technology giant huawei has partnered with automakers GAC and Dongfeng to together launch two new electric vehicle (EV) brands, Qijing and Yijing, signaling a important push into the competitive Chinese new energy vehicle market. The unveiling took place today, marking a coordinated effort to leverage Huawei’s technological prowess with the manufacturing capabilities of the established automotive companies.
The launches represent a strategic move by all parties to capitalize on the rapidly growing demand for EVs in China, the world’s largest automotive market. Qijing, backed by GAC, will focus on high-end smart EVs, while Yijing, developed with Dongfeng, will target a broader consumer base with more accessible electric models. This collaboration aims to accelerate the growth and deployment of advanced EV technologies and compete with existing players like Tesla, BYD, and Nio.
According to information released during the launch event, both brands will utilize Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart car solution and advanced driving assistance systems.
