Beginning 2025/11/22,the family will host a series of ”vide-château” (castle emptying) weekends,offering a rare glimpse-and acquisition opportunity-into the accumulated treasures of 500 square meters of attics.
For generations, the Château de Ribaute has stood as a testament to regional heritage, originally serving as a monastic retreat before evolving into a family home. Now, as the family prepares to relinquish ownership, they are inviting the public to participate in preserving the castle’s legacy by acquiring pieces of its history. The sales, scheduled for the weekends of 2025/11/22 and 2025/11/29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., represent a final, intimate connection between the family and the estate, and a chance for others to own a fragment of Ribaute’s enduring story.
“There are 500 square meters of attics. It’s full! We came up with things that were not possible,” explained Azélie, a member of the family, highlighting the sheer volume of items awaiting discovery. The offerings will include furniture, crockery, collectibles, and other curiosities unearthed from the castle’s hidden spaces. The family hopes these sales will allow enthusiasts and history buffs to carry forward the spirit of Château de Ribaute for generations to come.
