Black Ops 7’s Endgame Mode to Become Universally Accessible
Treyarch will remove the campaign completion requirement for accessing Black Ops 7’s popular Endgame mode on November 21, 2025. Previously, players were restricted to playing Endgame either by finishing the game’s campaign or joining a lobby hosted by someone who had. The change addresses player feedback criticizing the initial design choice, which many believed discouraged participation in the new mode due to dissatisfaction with this year’s campaign.
Endgame takes place on the same open-world island map featured in the campaign, but challenges players to land with no equipment and complete objectives, missions, and quests scattered across the environment-solo or cooperatively. Players gain power through combat, looting, and activity completion, allowing access to more challenging enemies and valuable loot. The goal is to extract with acquired items before time expires; failure results in losing all progress.
Treyarch described the positive reception to endgame in a November 19,2025,tweet: “We’ve seen an awesome response to Endgame from players who’ve already been dropping in,so we’re making it available to everyone in #BlackOps7 starting Friday,Nov. 21.”
The developers will also reward players who completed the campaign and engaged with Endgame prior to the change with XP boosters and Gobblegum packs as a gesture of thankfulness. The mode draws inspiration from extraction shooters like Arc Raiders while offering a less punishing experience, according to reports.
