German Punk Veterans Blut + Eisen Announce extensive Tour, Hint at Budget-Conscious Booking
Leipzig, Germany – After decades of intermittent activity punctuated by “final” shows, German punk stalwarts Blut + Eisen (Blood + Iron) are embarking on a critically important tour spanning late 2025 and early 2026, kicking off with a “secret gig” in Leipzig on November 29th. The band, known for their aggressively paced and deliberately disruptive sound, is simultaneously signaling a willingness to work with promoters on a shoestring.
Formed in the early 1980s, Blut + Eisen built a reputation for challenging both audiences and themselves, dismantling conventional song structures and melodic expectations. Their discography, ranging from self-produced cassettes like 1983’s Pogo pops up to albums on the Weird System label (Scream! in 1984, nice sight in 1985), reflects a commitment to raw, uncompromising punk. Despite multiple hiatuses – including a suppose final performance in 1987 – the band has resurfaced for sporadic shows in 1994, 2002, 2008, and 2022-2024. This latest revival includes a new vocalist alongside founding members Fox (Life), Croesus (Bass), Tier (Drums), and Fiete (Guitar).
The tour schedule includes dates in Wermelskirchen (AJZ Bahndamm, December 12th, 2025), Nordenham (eldorado, December 20th, 2025), Berlin (Wild at heart, January 10th, 2026), Bremen (Karo, January 31st, 2026), and Köln (Sonic Ballroom, february 13th, 2026). Notably, the band’s promotional materials explicitly invite booking inquiries, stating they are “available all year round” and encouraging potential promoters to “write us your dates.” This suggests a pragmatic approach to touring, possibly prioritizing accessibility over lavish production.
Blut + Eisen’s catalog also includes split releases with bands like Cretins (Dachau Disco, 1984) and live recordings (A punk band past its expiration date, 1997). A new EP, Idiots at Time, is slated for release on Dies All Records in Spring 2026, alongside the recent cassette Animal Crossing (2024) and upcoming Feiertag (Black Cat Tapes/Lion Crew Records, 2025). The band is currently signed to Sterbt all Records. Their motto, “HARD ON YOURSELF – TOWARDS OTHERS!” encapsulates their enduring ethos.
