Kumho Resort launches ‘Bedding Circular Journey: Green Loop’ Upcycling Campaign

Kumho‌ Resort is bolstering its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives with the launch of the ⁢’Bedding Circular Journey: green Loop’ campaign, transforming discarded bedding into eco-friendly‍ products. The resort announced⁤ on november ⁣18th a collaboration with eco-friendly upcycling social enterprise ‘Consciousness‘ to create green ‌felt storage boxes from recycled bedding materials.

The vegan-certified storage boxes are available in open, tray, and foldable ‌formats. Starting in December, they will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to customers booking rooms through Trip Bitoz’s ⁢’Kumho Resort Brand Special Exhibition,’ which runs until November⁤ 23rd for stays through January‍ 31st of next year.

Kumho Resort aims to divert over 400 kg of‍ waste bedding annually from incineration through this initiative, reducing carbon emissions and promoting enduring travel. This builds on the resort’s existing ESG efforts, including the ‘Valuable Travel: Checkout for the⁤ Earth’ clothing donation campaign, which has ⁢collected 5,100 unused garments from guests over the past two years, saving approximately 13.77 million liters of⁤ water and creating employment opportunities for ‍the disabled through the sale of donated items.

“We planned this campaign so that people can naturally participate in eco-friendly activities through travel and continue the value of sustainability‍ in their daily lives,”⁣ said a kumho Resort official. “We will‍ continue to convey the value‌ of ⁢’sustainable rest’ by⁣ establishing a⁢ resource circulation system and strengthening⁢ ESG practices.”
