Migu Lands Exclusive AFC Digital Rights in China Through 2029
Shanghai, China – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a wide-ranging media rights partnership with Migu, a leading digital platform in China, granting Migu exclusive digital rights to AFC competitions within China through the 2028-29 season.The deal underscores the growing commercial interest in Asian football and expands Migu’s portfolio of premium sports content.
This agreement will bring the AFC’s top-tier tournaments – including the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup, and national team qualifiers - to a vast audience of passionate football fans across China via Migu’s innovative platforms. Migu’s acquisition of AFC rights builds on a recent expansion of its sports broadcasting portfolio. In late October, the platform secured a four-year agreement to become the exclusive digital rightsholder in China for all FIBA competitions, beginning promptly. Earlier this year, Migu also broadcast the FIFA Club world Cup, demonstrating its commitment to delivering world-class soccer content to Chinese audiences.
The AFC has been actively broadening its broadcast reach across Asia, recently announcing a partnership with BG Sports in Thailand in early August. These strategic alliances reflect the confederation’s focus on maximizing exposure for its competitions and fostering growth within the region.
