Caracas Gains Free High-Speed Internet in Four Strategic Locations
Caracas, Venezuela – November 17, 2025 – Residents and visitors in Caracas, Venezuela now have access too free, high-speed internet thanks to teh inauguration of four new Ultra High Speed Internet Zones by the National Telephone Company of Venezuela (Cantv). The initiative aims to improve digital connectivity in key public spaces across the capital city.
The newly established internet zones are located at the Dr. Vicente Salias Sanoja Hospital in Fuerte Tiuna, the Plaza del Estadio Universitario at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), the Colonial Zone of La Pastora, and La Candelaria square. Cantv announced the rollout via its official Instagram account, stating the project aligns with the directives of the Bolivarian Government.
The provision of free internet access has been met with enthusiasm from local communities. Angélica ponce, a resident of La Candelaria, expressed her gratitude, stating, I am very happy as, even with all the pressures that the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro has, he offers us this service in addition to others, so that we live in peace, tranquility and connected with all social networks.
Zulay Mendoza, a spokesperson for La Pastora, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the benefits for students and the wider community. This expansion of free internet access represents a continued effort to bridge the digital divide in Venezuela.
