Iconic Film Cars From ‘RobotCop‘ and ‘Taxi‘ ⁢Heading to Auction

Budapest, Hungary⁣ – ‍A remarkable collection of ⁤vehicles with silver-screen pedigrees is set to be auctioned, offering enthusiasts a rare ⁣chance‌ to own a piece of cinematic ⁤history. Among the ⁢lots are two cars featured in prominent films: a modified 1977⁢ Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme from the⁣ 1987 sci-fi‌ classic RobotCop, and a heavily customized 2006 Peugeot 407 from ⁣the 2018 installment⁣ of the Taxi franchise.

This⁣ auction presents a unique convergence of automotive and film memorabilia, appealing to collectors and fans alike. The vehicles, each bearing the distinctive marks of⁢ their on-screen roles, represent a tangible link to beloved movies. The sale, taking place soon, will determine the future of these iconic props and‌ potentially set new benchmarks ‍for ⁣film car valuations.

‘RobotCop’s’ Futuristic‍ Patrol Car

One of three RobotCop vehicles constructed for ‌the original film, the oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was radically transformed into a futuristic law enforcement sedan. Notably, this particular unit is one of only two remaining fully functional examples; the third was built solely as ‌a ‍non-operational shell. The car’s extensive modifications belie its original 1977‍ foundation.

While specific‍ engine ‌details remain unconfirmed, a 4.3-liter V8 is considered the most probable powerplant. Auction estimates place the vehicle’s value between HUF 11 million and HUF 19 million (approximately‍ $30,000 – $52,000 USD).

‘Taxi⁣ 5’s’ ⁢Stunning, Though Impaired, Peugeot

Also up for bid is the 2006 Peugeot 407 featured ‍in Taxi 5. This vehicle, dramatically altered for a memorable scene involving a ship, is⁢ missing its entire front half and is considered a non-functional display piece. Despite its incomplete state, the car’s elaborate exterior ⁢detailing-including prominent roof-mounted air intakes and undercarriage wings-makes it a visually striking item.

Due to its status as a static exhibit, the peugeot is ⁣expected to sell ⁢for a more accessible HUF 1.1-2.3 million (approximately $3,000 – $6,300 USD).The auction⁤ offers ⁢a chance to acquire a unique piece of movie history, even in a partially disassembled form.
