volunteers Needed for China Camp Park Restoration Day
SAN RAFAEL,CA – November 12,2024 - Friends of China Camp is calling on volunteers to help maintain and improve trails and facilities at China Camp State Park during a “Give-Back Morning” on Wednesday,November 19th. The event offers a chance to contribute to the preservation of the beloved park while enjoying the outdoors.
China Camp State Park, a historically and ecologically meaningful area, relies heavily on volunteer support to maintain its trails, facilities, and natural beauty. This event provides a direct opportunity for community members to actively participate in the park’s upkeep, ensuring its continued accessibility and enjoyment for all. No prior experience is necessary, and volunteers can choose tasks suited to their fitness level.
The “Give-Back Morning” will run from 9 a.m. to noon, starting at the China Camp Ranger Station. Participants should wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy closed-toe shoes, and bring sunscreen and a filled water bottle.the work will range from easy to moderately strenuous, allowing volunteers to select activities that match their abilities.
Individuals aged 14 and up are welcome to participate, with those under 18 required to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Groups of five or more should contact volunteer maintenance coordinator Kjsmead at kjsmead@comcast.net.
