Israeli Government to Launch Inquiry into October 7 Attacks
JERUSALEM – The Israeli government will form a commission of inquiry to investigate the events surrounding the October 7 attacks, according to reports in the press. The commission’s formation comes amid ongoing debate and scrutiny regarding the preparedness of Israeli security forces and intelligence agencies prior to the Hamas-led assault.

Recent developments surrounding the conflict include a UN Security Council vote scheduled for Monday on an american draft resolution regarding Gaza,which raises the possibility of a future Palestinian state – a prospect firmly opposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several of his ministers. “Our opposition to a Palestinian state on any territory has not changed,” Netanyahu stated Sunday, opening a council of ministers.
The American draft resolution also endorses Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, authorizing the deployment of an “international stabilization force” and establishing a “peace committee” chaired by Donald Trump to administer the territory provisionally until the end of December 2027.
