Leaked Footage Hints at ‘Severance’ Star in Sony’s Live-Action ‘Legend of Zelda‘ Film
Footage reportedly from the set of sony and Nintendo’s upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda movie has surfaced online, offering a first glimpse at actress Bo bragason in her role as Princess Zelda and potentially revealing casting for the character of Impa. Filming began earlier this month in New Zealand.
The brief clip, posted on Instagram, depicts Bragason as Zelda interacting with another actress who fans have identified as Dichen Lachman, known for her role as Ms.Casey in the Apple TV+ series Severance. Lachman also has credits in Altered Carbon, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,Supergirl,The 100,and Jurassic World Dominion. Neither Sony nor Nintendo have officially confirmed Lachman’s involvement.
Impa has been a recurring character throughout The Legend of Zelda franchise, consistently serving as a protector or advisor to Princess Zelda, with variations in her age and backstory appearing across different games, including a younger portrayal in Hyrule warriors: Age of Calamity.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth was previously confirmed as Link in July. Currently, Ainsworth and Bragason are the only two officially announced cast members. Wes Ball, director of kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is helming the project, with a script penned by Derek Connolly, who co-wrote Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
Nintendo announced a release date of May 7,2027,after initially delaying the film in June. The production is a collaboration between Sony Pictures, Nintendo, and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
