WASHINGTON – senator John Fetterman shared a photo Saturday signaling his recovery adn planned return to Washington, D.C.,following a recent hospitalization for a heart issue. The Pennsylvania Democrat posted the image on X, formerly Twitter, accompanied by the message, ”See you back in D.C.”
Fetterman was hospitalized on February 8 after experiencing lightheadedness, and was later diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder. His recent health challenges add to a broader conversation surrounding medical transparency among lawmakers, a topic that has gained renewed attention this year as several members of Congress have publicly navigated health concerns. Fetterman has previously emphasized the importance of open discussion regarding both mental and physical health, stating it can definitely help normalize these conversations in public life.
The senator was initially treated in George Washington University Hospital and later released, though he experienced a setback requiring a second brief hospitalization on February 17.He has been working remotely while recovering.
