Czech Football: Chytil Called Up for World Cup Qualification vs. Gibraltar

Chytil ⁤Called Up to Czech ‌National Team⁣ Ahead of‌ Gibraltar Clash

Olomouc, Czech Republic – November 15, ⁤2025 – Striker ​Mojmír Chytil‌ has been added ​to the Czech Republic national team roster‍ for MondayS World Cup​ qualification match against Gibraltar, the Czech Football Association‍ (FAČR) announced today. The move comes as a response to heel issues currently affecting‌ forward Tomáš Choré.

The 26-year-old Chytil, who ‍plays for Slavia Prague,⁢ brings a wealth of international experience with ‍18⁤ appearances and⁢ six⁤ goals​ for the national ​team. He last featured for⁣ the Czech Republic exactly ‍one year ago,in a League of Nations ⁤match against⁢ Georgia,also ​played‍ in Olomouc – the same venue for Monday’s game.

Chytil debuted for the Czech team three ⁢years⁣ prior‌ at Hané, scoring ⁢a hat trick in his‌ first start​ against the faroe islands,⁤ contributing to a 5-0⁤ victory.⁤ His addition ⁤provides coach​ Jaroslav‍ Köstl with further ​attacking options⁤ alongside Václav Sejk and ⁣Patrik Schick, who recently recovered from a virus.

“We need to have options up front,and Mojmír’s ⁤experience and goal-scoring ability are valuable assets,” said Köstl,reacting ⁤to Choré’s injury.​ “He knows the ⁣habitat ⁢in ⁢Olomouc well, and we’re confident he can contribute.”

Monday’s match will conclude the group stage of World ​Cup qualification for the Czech Republic, who have already secured second place and a spot in the March play-offs. The ⁢team⁢ is also aiming to‌ improve thier seeding for ⁤the play-off draw, hoping​ to secure ‌a home semi-final.

The Czech team, following a 1-0 victory over San Marino on Thursday in Köstl’s debut as head coach, trained in Ostrava at the Bazaly stadium this ⁢morning before traveling by train to Olomouc. Midfielder Lukáš ‌provod ⁢remains​ unavailable due to health reasons, leaving Köstl with a 23-player squad.
