USD Heads to Pacific Northwest for Crucial WCC Contests
SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego women’s volleyball team will travel to the Pacific Northwest this week to face off against Oregon state and Portland in a pair of West Coast Conference (WCC) matches, continuing their pursuit of a league title. The Toreros currently lead the WCC in several key statistical categories and boast impressive records against both opponents.
USD enters the week with a dominant offensive and defensive presence, leading the conference with a .257 hitting percentage and 1,575.5 total points in 2025. They also top the WCC in digs (1,296) and rank second in total blocks (238) and opponent hitting percentage (.178). individually, Nemo Beach leads the league with 385 total kills and is second with an average of 4.05 kills per set, while Olivia Bennett has recorded 358 digs and 3.77 digs per set. Isabel Clark contributes significantly to the Toreros’ attack,ranking fifth in the WCC with 312 kills.
Against Oregon State: USD holds a 4-2 all-time series lead over the Beavers, having won their last three matchups dating back to 2024. The teams most recently met on October 11, 2025, with San Diego securing a 3-1 victory at the Jenny Craig Pavilion to take sole possession of first place in the WCC. Prior to Oregon State joining the WCC as an affiliate member in 2024, the programs split four non-conference matchups with two wins apiece from 1985 to 2018.
Against Portland: San Diego boasts a commanding 68-9 all-time record against Portland, currently riding a 17-match winning streak against the Pilots that began on October 14, 2017. This streak includes 14 San Diego sweeps. The toreros defeated Portland in straight sets on October 9, 2025, at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, and secured a 3-0 win during their last visit to the Chiles Centre on November 14, 2024. USD’s last loss to Portland occurred on November 10,2016,in a 3-2 decision.
