James Van Der Beek is auctioning off iconic props from Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues to help cover medical expenses following his recent colorectal cancer diagnosis. The sale,announced this week,features items like the pilot episode script of the beloved 1998 teen drama-expected to fetch nearly $4,000-and the necklace dawson (Van der Beek) gifted Joey (Katie Holmes) for prom,estimated to sell for between $26,400 and $52,800.
Van Der Beek revealed his cancer diagnosis in November 2023, stating he was “privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” and expressing optimism about his prognosis. This auction follows a December sale of limited-edition autographed Varsity Blues merchandise and a September pilot episode table read with his Dawson’s Creek co-stars, both benefiting the institution F Cancer.
the auction also includes Van Der Beek’s character’s West Canaan Coyotes hat and a pair of cleats worn during filming of Varsity Blues.Proceeds from the sale will directly support his ongoing medical care.
