Coda Music: AI Music Detection & Streaming Alternatives

Coda Music: AI Music Detection & Streaming Alternatives

Coda Music Launches AI Music Filtering Tools, Aims to Redefine Artist Compensation

LOS ⁢ANGELES, CA – Streaming music platform‌ Coda music has begun rolling out new features allowing users to identify and ⁤filter⁣ out AI-generated music, available now in its iOS and Android apps. The move comes as the‌ company together pushes for a more equitable streaming‍ model ⁢for artists.

Coda music distinguishes ⁤itself from competitors by ⁣offering tools to label AI-generated tracks and block them from user feeds. This feature addresses growing concerns about the proliferation of artificial intelligence-created ‍music on streaming‍ services.

Beyond AI filtering, Coda is ‌attempting to address the long-standing issue of low artist payouts. The company states it currently pays the “highest per-stream rate” in the industry, but acknowledges that streaming ⁤alone doesn’t provide sufficient income for musicians.”The real problem isn’t how much is paid per stream, it’s that streaming alone doesn’t pay enough,” the company’s website explains. “And ‍minor improvements to a fundamentally flawed per stream model will not help.”

To supplement stream revenue, Coda allows users to directly support artists by allocating $1 ‍of their monthly subscription fee to ‌an “independent or⁣ qualifying artist” of their choice.

Coda also differentiates itself through a social-focused approach, aiming to create a music-sharing feed driven ‌by human recommendations rather than algorithms. The app’s home page features fan-made playlists and user ‍recommendations, alongside algorithmic suggestions. Users can share songs, artists, albums, external links, and photos within⁢ the platform, and artists are encouraged to actively engage and share⁤ content. This approach is reminiscent of Amazon Music’s recently launched Fan Groups feature.

Coda Music is currently available for $11 per month for individual subscriptions and $17⁤ per month for family plans supporting ‍up to four listeners. A web interface is currently under development.
