French Basketball Teams Shine in European Cup Action: Bourg-en-Bresse Dominates, Dijon Secures hard-Fought Victory
ULM, GERMANY & DIJON, FRANCE – Bourg-en-Bresse continued its impressive form in the EuroCup, securing a commanding 64-96 victory on the road against Ulm. Together, Dijon overcame a late challenge from Cibona Zagreb to win 94-85 in the FIBA europe Cup.
Bourg-en-Bresse, leading Group B, claimed its sixth win in seven matches. After a strong opening quarter establishing a 17-28 lead,Ulm briefly rallied to tie the game at 34-34 and even take a short-lived lead (36-34).Though, Bourg regained control, leading 42-50 at halftime. A dominant third quarter saw Ulm score only 5 points while Bourg added 14, extending their advantage to 17 points. the final quarter was decisive, with Bourg outscoring Ulm 17-32 and building a lead of up to 35 points.Bourg’s defence was especially strong, recording 16 interceptions and 5 blocks. Adam Mokoka led the scoring with 23 points (7/8 shooting, 7/12 free throws). Bourg-en-Bresse will next travel to London.

In the FIBA Europe Cup, Dijon secured its third victory in five Group J games against Cibona Zagreb, winning 94-85 and regaining the basket average after a previous three-point loss to the Croatian team. Dijon led for much of the game, building a 16-9 start and a four-point halftime lead (45-41). Zagreb briefly took the lead in the third quarter (50-56) before Dijon responded with a 12-0 run to regain control (74-68). With 3:01 remaining, Cibona equalized at 80-80, but Dijon’s David Holston then scored three consecutive three-pointers to secure the win.Holston finished with 25 points (6/8 from three-point range) and 5 assists. Dijon will conclude its group stage against Bashkimi.
