South Carolina Gains Commitment from Top 2026 ‍Recruit Kaeli Wynn

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Dawn⁤ Staley and the‍ South Carolina‍ Gamecocks​ have received ⁣a⁢ commitment from Kaeli Wynn,the No. 17 recruit in ‍the ESPN SC Next 100 class of 2026. Wynn announced her ​decision Tuesday, choosing South Carolina⁣ over ​Stanford.

the ​addition of Wynn substantially bolsters the Gamecocks’ already strong recruiting trajectory and solidifies their position as a‌ perennial‍ contender in ‍women’s college basketball. Wynn’s ⁢versatility and high basketball IQ ‌are expected to make ‌an immediate impact on Staley’s ‌program.

“I ⁢chose ‌South Carolina because of Coach⁣ Staley’s leadership, the program’s championship culture‍ and the energy‍ of Gamecock Nation that made Columbia ⁤feel like home,” Wynn ⁣told ESPN. “I’m looking forward to competing‌ at the highest⁤ level and helping the Gamecocks win‌ more SEC and national championships.”

Wynn, a⁣ 6-foot-2 guard/forward from California, is ‍known for her elite‌ fundamental ⁢base and ability to play multiple positions. Despite missing the latter half ​of her⁤ high school ⁢season last year and the summer club circuit following a dislocated right knee in January, she demonstrated her skills ‍in ⁤the summer of 2024, averaging 13.3 points, 4.2 ​rebounds⁢ and 2.7 assists while shooting 33% from three-point⁤ range on ‍the ‍Nike⁣ EYBL circuit.‌

Her parents are both experienced collegiate basketball coaches, contributing to her​ advanced understanding of the game. Wynn is described as ⁣a confident and communicative player, ⁢possessing a “coach-like” ⁣presence on the court.

wynn will join IMG Academy⁢ post player and No. 18-ranked Kelsi ​Andrews​ in South carolina next ‍season, forming a⁢ formidable frontcourt duo for the Gamecocks.
