Nouryon Launches Shanghai Innovation Center to Fuel Growth in Asia-pacific
Shanghai, China - Nouryon today announced the opening of a new innovation center in Shanghai, bolstering its commitment to the Chinese market and expanding its research and growth capabilities across key industries. The facility will focus on developing tailored solutions for high-growth sectors including agriculture, electronics, construction, and pharmaceuticals, wiht a dedicated customer experiance center for the personal care industry.
The Shanghai center, Nouryon’s 14th global innovation hub, represents a significant investment in co-development and rapid prototyping, enabling the company to accelerate its strategic ambitions in China and the broader Asia-Pacific region. “The launch of our innovation center in Shanghai marks another important milestone in Nouryon’s future in China,” said Charlie Shaver, chairman and CEO of Nouryon. “It deepens our commitment to innovation and customer intimacy,while enhancing our ability to co-develop high-performance,market-tailored solutions.”
The new facility features eight specialized laboratories dedicated to nouryon’s core product lines, including Expancel thermoplastic microspheres, Kromasil chromatography media, Levasil colloidal silica, and Bermocoll cellulose ethers. Beyond supporting existing product development, the center will prioritize sustainability, accelerating the creation of eco-kind solutions like low volatile organic-compound coatings, biobased chelates, and sustainable microspheres.
Nouryon is also planning to open an organic peroxides innovation center in Tianjin in 2026, further strengthening its request capabilities and customer support network in China.
