A New Chapter for Thorgal
Fans of the Thorgal Saga can mark their calendars: the sixth installment, titled The Ambergodin, is slated for release in Dutch on March 12, 2026, published by The Lombard. this latest adventure is brought to life by Christophe Bec, handling both the artwork adn screenplay, in collaboration with co-writer Valérie Mangin.
While the official cover art remains under wraps, a striking black and white cover from the French Prestige edition has already been revealed, offering a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come.
Edition Details and Exclusive content
The standard edition of The Ambergodin will span 112 pages and be available in both softcover (€14.99) and hardcover (€22.99). Bec aims to elevate the Prestige edition beyond simple sketches and preliminary studies.
The 120-page Prestige version will dedicate 14 pages to a richly illustrated “making-of” feature, complete with insightful commentary from Bec and Mangin, transforming it into a considerable bonus for dedicated fans.
The Story Unfolds
“In a port in Northland,Thorgal comes to the rescue of young Ingrid when she is attacked by thieves. In gratitude, she gives him a necklace with an amber pearl. But the precious gift is poisoned: it causes Jolan to fall into a deep sleep from which nothing can wake him. Thorgal goes looking for Ingrid and discovers a village threatened by a huge fire. All the men there seem to be affected by the same curse as his son. What is going on? Only people know-their women and especially Huldra, the amber goddess.”
The narrative centers around Thorgal’s rescue of Ingrid from thieves, a gesture rewarded with a seemingly benevolent amber pearl necklace. However, this gift carries a dark secret, plunging Jolan into an inexplicable slumber. Thorgal’s quest to save his son leads him to a village plagued by a mysterious curse and a devastating fire, hinting at the involvement of the enigmatic Huldra, the amber goddess.
