Nintendo Reports Strong first Half of 2025 Driven by Software Sales, Including Mario Kart world
Nintendo announced an operating profit of 145.1 billion yen for the first half of 2025, a 19.5 percent increase compared to the previous year, despite a 2.8 percent decline in digital sales and falling revenue from its film division. The company’s success is largely attributed to robust software sales, with in-house titles like Donkey Kong Bananza (3.49 million sales as July) and Super Mario Party Jamboree leading the charge. Notably,Mario Kart World is contributing to this positive trend.
The financial report indicates Nintendo has sold a total of 10.36 million consoles. The company is forecasting annual sales of approximately 2.25 trillion yen by March 2026, representing a 93 percent increase over the prior year. Upcoming first-party titles expected to maintain momentum include Kirby Air Riders (November release) and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (December release),alongside new editions of Pokémon Legends: ZA and re-releases of classic games.
Nintendo plans to continue this growth with a strong pipeline of titles, building on the success of its current offerings.
