Teen’s Vintage‍ Style Goes Viral After Louvre Burglary Photo

PARIS – ⁤A 15-year-old Parisian student’s distinctive 1940s-inspired style unexpectedly propelled him to internet fame after he was captured in a photograph taken on ⁣teh day of a ‍brazen‌ burglary at the Louvre Museum. The image, snapped by Associated press photographer Thibault Camus, shows the teen questioning security agents about closed gates moments before news of⁤ the⁤ attempted heist broke, adn has since garnered millions of views.

Pedro, as he’s been identified by Le Parisien, was⁢ unaware he’d been photographed until‌ an acquaintance alerted him four days later.”She told me there were 5 million views,” he recounted, ‍expressing his surprise. His newfound‍ notoriety escalated when ⁤his mother ​informed him he was featured in The New York⁣ Times. “It’s not every day,” Pedro ‌conceded.​ “People said: You became a star.”

The ‍photograph’s virality, he believes, stems from the ​contrast between his classic attire ⁢and the modern⁤ setting. “I’m⁢ dressed more 1940s,‍ and we’re in 2025. There’s a​ contrast,” he⁤ explained. However, his style isn’t a costume;‌ Pedro dresses in a similar fashion daily, stating, “I like to ​be chic,” and even wears his ‌signature fedora to school.

His aesthetic has already begun to influence his peers, with ⁢one friend recently appearing at school wearing a tie.‍ Inspired by fictional detectives like Sherlock Holmes ⁤and Hercule Poirot, Pedro has since made his instagram account public, jokingly ‌hoping for offers to appear in films. “It would be very‌ funny,” he ⁤said ⁣with‍ a smile.
