NYPD Investigating Attempted Rape in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn; Asks Public for Help
BROOKLYN, NY – The New York Police Department is urging the public to assist in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted rape that occurred in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn on the night of Friday, October 24th.
According to police reports, a woman in her late 20s was approached by an unidentified man as she was entering a residence in the vicinity of Cook Street and Avenue of Puerto rico (also known as Graham Avenue). The suspect allegedly forced his way into the home.
Investigators state that the man then exposed himself and attempted to remove the woman’s clothing. He subsequently fled the scene, heading southbound on Graham Avenue. Fortunately, the woman did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident.
The brooklyn Special Victims Squad is leading the investigation and has released images of the suspect to the public. A distinctive feature noted by investigators is a cursive tattoo located above the suspect’s eyebrow.
