Ha Long University Launches marketing and Business Law Programs to Meet Regional Demand
Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province – Ha Long University will expand its academic offerings with the introduction of Bachelor’s degree programs in Marketing and Business Law, effective in the upcoming academic year.The move comes following expert evaluation and is designed to directly address a growing need for skilled professionals in the rapidly developing Quang Ninh province.
The new programs are strategically aligned with quang Ninh’s ambitious development plan to become a leading service hub for tourism, logistics, and high-tech industries by 2030, with a vision extending to 2050. Provincial forecasts indicate a demand for 18,000 to 20,000 new workers in 2024 alone, with marketing, communication, and service roles accounting for 7-8% of that total - translating to over 1,400 to 1,600 job openings annually. A particularly acute need exists in Ha Long, Cam Pha, and mong cai to support growth in tourism, commerce, logistics, and real estate.
According to university officials, the programs were developed to ensure graduates possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, digital literacy, and strong professional networks. Experts advising the university recommended continued focus on these areas to maximize student adaptability in the job market.
“The launch of these two new majors represents a strategic step in the university’s evolution towards a multidisciplinary,application-oriented,and integrated institution,tailored to the personnel needs of the local area,” stated Associate Professor Dr. hoang Thi Thu Giang, Vice Rector of Ha Long University, during the program evaluation session.
The addition of Business Law is also responsive to provincial directives outlined by the 16th Provincial Party Congress, emphasizing personnel development, administrative reform, and the establishment of a digital administration – all areas closely linked to the expertise provided by the program. University leaders believe the new programs will contribute to a lasting workforce capable of driving quang Ninh’s continued economic growth and national development.
