Pixel Watch 4 Battery Life Exceeding Expectations, Users Report
October 28, 2024 – Early reports and user feedback indicate the Pixel Watch 4’s battery life is a standout feature, considerably improving upon previous models and meeting, or even exceeding, Google’s initial projections.
Initial reviews, including one from Droid Life published in early October, showed the 45mm Pixel Watch 4 achieving approximately 40 hours of use with the always-on display (AOD) enabled, and up to 48 hours with it disabled. Some users experienced even longer runtimes, with one reviewer noting over 48 hours of use including 5.5 hours of workouts and full sleep tracking.
Concerns about battery drain from the ”raise to talk” feature, which activates Gemini, were addressed by adjusting the feature’s sensitivity and ultimately disabling it, further optimizing battery performance.
Recent user reports on Reddit corroborate these findings. One user shared a screenshot showing 76% battery remaining after 16 hours of use with AOD active. Others confirmed battery consumption is lower than the Pixel watch 3.
Charging speeds have also seen a considerable upgrade. The Pixel watch 4 can reportedly charge from 20% to 100% in approximately 40 minutes – a significant improvement over previous Pixel Watch models which typically required over an hour for a full charge.users have independently verified this charging time in testing. The new magnetic charger is also praised for its ease of use and ability to transform the watch into a bedside clock.
Even anecdotal evidence points to positive results, with one user reporting to the author that the battery life and charging time were “amazing.”
