BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb University baseball Head Coach Jim Chester unveiled the program’s 57-game schedule for the 2026 season, featuring 24 Big South Conference matchups and challenging non-conference contests.
“The 2026 schedule is as challenging as any in my tenure at Gardner-Webb,” Chester stated. “Conventional non-conference opponents like Western Carolina, App State, Wofford, and UNC Charlotte are back this year. The big south slate will be competitive from top too bottom. Our alumni and fans will be excited about trips to Oklahoma State and Washington State this spring. The Runnin’ Bulldogs will begin the season with 11 of thier first 12 games at Bill Masters Field, starting with a four-game series against Valparaiso, February 13-15, followed by a road game at South Carolina of the SEC.
Gardner-Webb will then host FDU for a pair of games, Dartmouth for two, and Appalachian State for a three-game series. A single game at Duke precedes a trip to Oklahoma state for three games.
March features a game versus Davidson on March 10, followed by the start of Big south play with a three-game series against Longwood, March 13-15.Additional March contests include a single game at Western Carolina and a weekend series at Charleston Southern. The Runnin’ Bulldogs will also host North Carolina A&T on March 24 and High Point for three conference games, with a rematch at A&T on March 31.
April begins with three games at UNC Asheville and a trip to Elon on April 7, culminating in a cross-country series at Washington State, April 9-11. Following a game against Queens University of Charlotte,gardner-Webb will travel to Virginia to face radford before returning home for a four-game stand,beginning with Western Carolina on April 21 and continuing with a series against Winthrop,April 24-26.
The schedule continues with a game at Wofford College and a series at USC Upstate, May 1-3, followed by a home game versus Wofford. The Runnin’ Bulldogs will then host Bradley and Campbell,playing the braves on May 8 and 9,and squaring off against Campbell on May 9.
A final non-conference game against Charlotte precedes the final home series of the year, a three-game set with Presbyterian, May 14-16.
