ZF-LIFETEC Announces Plans for 225 Layoffs in Częstochowa, Poland
Częstochowa, Poland – ZF-LIFETEC has informed trade unions of its intention to implement collective layoffs at its Częstochowa branch, impacting 225 employees – approximately 7% of the local workforce. The declaration, made following a meeting between employer representatives and trade unions on November 3rd, signals a broader restructuring effort by the German automotive supplier to optimize operations.
The planned job cuts will affect both the seat belt and airbag production plants, wiht terminations expected between January 2026 and September 2026, depending on individual notice periods. According to a statement from trade unionists, the reductions will encompass 161 employees in production and internal transport departments, and 64 from support, auxiliary, and non-production roles.
ZF-LIFETEC’s decision is part of a wider global restructuring initiative.The company also plans to reduce its workforce by 7,600 in Germany by 2030 and cut 25 percent of staff in Sumare, Brazil. Layoffs are also planned in France, with additional measures including limited work hours and voluntary departure programs being considered at other ZF plants worldwide.Further negotiations regarding the Częstochowa layoffs are scheduled for November 12,2025. If no agreement is reached within 20 days, the company reserves the right to unilaterally determine the terms of the layoffs.
