‘Dispatch’ Currently Not Available on Xbox, But Potential Release Not Ruled Out
November 22, 2023 – The narrative-driven dispatch management game Dispatch, currently available on PC and PlayStation 5, does not have a confirmed release date for Xbox consoles. However, developers at AdHoc have not entirely dismissed the possibility of a future Xbox release.
Dispatch puts players in the role of Robert Robertson, the former superhero ‘MechaMan‘, who now manages a team of rehabilitated supervillains while working to rebuild his mech suit and seek revenge against his nemesis.
In a recent interview with Insider Gaming, AdHoc’s Narrative Director Pierre Shorette explained the initial decision to release on PC and PlayStation 5, stating, “yeah, I mean PC is always a given. I think PlayStation is also just a place that I think maybe we associate with good storytelling more so than maybe some other platforms. That’s not going to say that we’re not going to eventually come out on those platforms, but there’s certainly a ubiquity to a good single player storytelling experience that I think I associate with PlayStation.”
While an Xbox release isn’t currently planned, Shorette’s comments suggest it remains a possibility.
