BREAKING: Portia Doubleday, Sierra Capri, and Joey Brooks have joined the cast of The Social Reckoning, the upcoming sequel to The Social Network, from Sony and Aaron Sorkin.
The film,currently shooting in vancouver and slated for release on October 9,2026,expands the universe of the 2010 Oscar-winning drama by focusing on the story of Frances Haugen,a former Facebook engineer who leaked internal documents revealing the company’s knowledge of harmful effects of its platforms. The addition of Doubleday, Capri, and Brooks bolsters an already extraordinary ensemble led by Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, and Bill Burr.
The Social Reckoning is based on Sorkin’s original screenplay and details Haugen’s collaboration with Wall Street journal reporter Jeff Horwitz to expose Facebook’s secrets. Additional cast members include Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnussen, Betty Gilpin, Gbenga akinnagbe, Anna lambe, Nelson Franklin, Aidan Laprete, and Kelley Pereira.
The original Social Network grossed $226 million worldwide and received eight Academy Award nominations, winning three. Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin, and Stuart Besser are producing the sequel.
