Vietnamese Club‌ VTV Binh ‌Dien Long An Withdraws From‍ 2025 FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship

Sao Paulo, ⁢Brazil ⁣-⁢ VTV Binh Dien Long An, the Vietnamese volleyball club that secured a⁢ place in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship, has announced it’s withdrawal from the⁢ tournament. The decision stems from logistical challenges and scheduling conflicts with the⁣ 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

The club cited⁣ the ⁢tournament’s location in Sao Paulo,⁤ Brazil, as creating a⁢ financially and time-intensive ⁤journey for the Southeast Asian team. More crucially, the World Championship, scheduled for December 8-14, overlaps directly with the Southeast Asian Games. ‍

“VTV Binh Dien Long⁣ An considers that creating favorable conditions for the participation of its members and the accomplishment of their national missions is essential,” the club ⁢stated. “This is why, ⁣after consultation⁣ with the VietnamFootball Federation, the club⁢ decided not to participate in the 2025 World Cup.”

Key players‌ from VTV Binh Dien Long An – ‍Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Dang Thi ‍Kim‍ Thanh, and Le Nhu ⁢Anh – are⁢ also integral members of the ‍Vietnamese women’s volleyball‍ team preparing for the southeast Asian Games. Star striker Tran⁢ Thi Thanh Thuy is also expected to join⁤ the national team roster in December.

VTV Binh Dien Long An⁤ is not the only ⁢team impacted by the scheduling conflict.⁤ Nakhon Ratchasima Club of Thailand, which finished third ⁣in the 2025 AVC Champions League, ‌has also withdrawn from the World Club Championship for similar reasons, prioritizing key⁣ players’ ‌participation in ⁢the Southeast Asian games.
