Man Charged with Murder Following Uxbridge Stabbing
A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder after a triple stabbing in Uxbridge, west London. Safi Dawood,of Midhurst gardens,was charged with the murder of 49-year-old Wayne Broadhurst,and the attempted murders of a 45-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy. He is also facing a charge of possession of an offensive weapon.
Police were called too Midhurst Gardens on Monday, October 27th, at approximately 5:00 PM following reports of the incident.Paramedics arrived on scene and attempted to save Mr. Broadhurst, who died from multiple stab wounds.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Dawood resided in the same area as the victims and had no prior connection to any of the individuals he is accused of attacking.
Following his arrest, Dawood underwent assessment while in custody and afterward required hospital treatment for a medical episode. He has since been returned to police custody and is awaiting a court appearance scheduled for thursday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The case has garnered significant public attention, in part due to Dawood being an Afghan national who had claimed asylum in the UK.
The metropolitan Police have issued a statement urging the public and media to refrain from sharing any information that could potentially jeopardize future legal proceedings.
Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall stated: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time. The incident will have understandably caused concern to the local community. I have deployed multiple officers to the local area, they will be here throughout the week to provide reassurance while detectives work intensely to piece together the circumstances.”
