Barcelona Suffers Blow as Pedri Sustains Injury, Will Miss Match Against Elche
Barcelona has received concerning news regarding midfielder Pedri, who will miss the upcoming La Liga match against Elche after being sent off during El Clásico. The Canary Islander hasn’t missed a game as January 26th of this year, having played in 49 matches over the past 280 days for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team.
Pedri’s absence is compounded by defender Pau cubarsí and forward Marcus Rashford also being unavailable,both with permission from the club. However, there is positive news for coach Hansi Flick, as forward Robert Lewandowski and midfielder Dani Olmo have begun reintegrating into group training.
Lewandowski and Olmo both suffered muscle injuries during the recent international break, causing them to miss the matches against Girona, Olympiacos, and Real Madrid. Lewandowski sustained a torn fiber, while Olmo injured a muscle while with the Spanish team.
Goalkeepers diego Kochen and Eder Aller, along with Barça atlètic players Jofre, Dro, Toni Fernández, and Xavi Espart also participated in Wednesday’s training session as the team prepares for the match against Elche.
