Toyota Reports Record First-Half Global Vehicle Sales, Driven by Hybrid Demand
Nagoya, Japan – October 27, 2025 – Toyota Motor Corp. announced today it’s parent-only global vehicle sales for the April-September period reached a record 5,267,216 units, a 4.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Including sales from subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., the Toyota group’s total global sales also hit a new high of 5,643,042 units, up 5.0 percent.
This surge in sales underscores Toyota’s continued strength in key markets and highlights growing consumer preference for hybrid technology. The results are particularly significant as the automotive industry navigates a complex landscape of economic uncertainty and intensifying competition, especially in regions like China. The record sales position Toyota favorably as it looks toward the remainder of its fiscal year and continued investment in electric vehicle development.
The growth was primarily fueled by strong demand for Toyota’s hybrid vehicles in North America, where sales jumped 10.5 percent. Popular models like the RAV4 SUV and Camry sedan contributed considerably to this increase. In China, despite an increasingly competitive market marked by price wars, Toyota experienced a 5.5 percent sales increase, boosted by the recent launch of a new electric vehicle.
The data, released by toyota on Monday, reflects sales figures as of October 27, 2025 (JST), according to a report from Jiji Press.
