Broncos‘⁣ Justin Strnad Fined Following Post-Game Incident with Referee

Denver Broncos inside linebacker Justin Strnad⁣ has been fined $15,546 by the NFL for making contact with referee⁣ Brad Allen after Sunday’s⁣ game against the New York giants, the league ‌announced‌ saturday. The fine comes in⁢ the wake of teammate Dre Greenlaw’s one-game suspension – upheld on appeal ⁤-‌ for chasing and verbally threatening Allen following the same contest.

The NFL’s Vice President of Football Administration, Troy Vincent, had previously indicated ⁣Strnad would likely face financial penalties.

Combined with Greenlaw’s ‍suspension and associated ⁢financial losses – totaling $292,778 in lost game checks and ‌roster bonuses – the total⁣ cost to the Broncos’ inside ⁢linebacker group is ‍$308,324 plus Greenlaw’s absence for⁢ Sunday’s game against the ‌Dallas Cowboys.

To ⁣address the depleted linebacker corps, Denver has elevated Jordan Turner from the practice squad for the Cowboys matchup. Turner is the third inside linebacker this season to be elevated from the practice squad, following Levelle Bailey and Garrett Wallow, ‍who was later promoted to the 53-man roster‌ before being placed on injured reserve with a⁤ hamstring injury.

The incident occurred promptly after ⁤Wil Lutz’s game-winning, 39-yard field goal for the Giants.
