LYNCHBURG,‌ VA – The Randolph College women’s swimming and ⁤diving team delivered a⁢ series of strong ‍individual performances at its home double dual meet this⁤ weekend, securing a win against Sweet ‍Briar ‍College while falling to Roanoke⁢ College. The WildCats‌ showcased depth and speed across multiple events, highlighted by several ​first-place finishes and personal ‍bests.

This weekend’s⁤ competition⁢ marks a key ​early-season test​ for the WildCats, ⁤providing valuable racing experience ⁢and​ a benchmark for​ enhancement as‍ they progress through the season.⁣ The⁣ team’s ability to ⁤consistently post competitive times demonstrates their dedication and‍ sets a positive trajectory for future meets in the⁣ Old ⁢Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

Katelyn Spuchesi⁣ led the charge,dominating the 200-yard freestyle with a time of ‍2:07.44 and ‍later ⁣securing first ⁤place ‍in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:58.05. Spuchesi also contributed a third-place⁢ finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.59.

Taylor Eshelman consistently delivered strong results, earning third place in the 50-yard freestyle at 26.87 and following up with a time of ‍5:53.15 in ​the 400-yard IM. She also placed third in the 100-yard ​freestyle (1:00.36).

Alaura Arringdale showcased⁣ her​ versatility with a third-place finish in the 400-yard IM (5:43.72) and a fourth-place ‍time of 2:58.76 in the 200-yard breaststroke.⁣ Rio ‍Bucy also secured multiple top-three finishes, taking third in⁤ the 200-yard butterfly (2:56.76) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:02.44).

Other notable performances⁢ included Maddie Dyl finishing sixth in the‌ 1650-yard freestyle⁣ (23:11.16), Reaghan Quinn‍ placing ‌sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:29.24) and ​the 200-yard breaststroke (3:15.60), ‌and a third-place​ finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay⁢ for the team of Scifres, Ward, Taylor-paige Kitts, and Bucy (2:03.35). ⁣

Heckman⁢ contributed⁣ a third-place time of 2:36.65 in the 200-yard backstroke, while Abby ⁢Ward clocked an⁣ even 28 ⁣seconds in the‌ 50-yard freestyle. Arringdale finished sixth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:48.48) and ‌Dyl placed sixth ⁢in the 200-yard ‍breaststroke ‌(3:20.68).
