A $500 World Series wager hangs in the balance as New York Post handicapper “Stitches” places bets on three college football favorites Saturday, hoping to recoup losses and avoid a self-imposed reckoning.
Despite a cardiologistS warning and his own reservations, Stitches is wagering $100 moneyline each on Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Michigan in an attempt to offset a significant loss placed on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. He jokingly warned that a failed attempt could lead to drastic measures.
Stitches, who has provided daily baseball handicapping for The Post since 2019 and won the publication’s NFL Best Bet crown last year, is currently down $799 following a Blue Jays victory over the Dodgers on friday. He noted a poor start to the day with Blake Snell giving up five runs in five innings.
Stitches, a self-described “straight C student” in college, acknowledged the bets are a long shot, stating that success would be ”easier than stealing crown jewels from the Louvre.”
