FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State College women’s tennis team finished Skyline Conference regular-season play undefeated Monday night, securing a 7-0 victory against Mount Saint Vincent. The Rams will enter the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship as the top seed.
FSC (9-4, 7-0 Skyline) completed a perfect conference run and will host fourth-seeded Yeshiva University in a 4:30 p.m. semifinal on Wednesday, Oct. 22. this marks a meaningful advantage for Farmingdale State as they aim for the conference title and a potential NCAA tournament berth.
The Rams dominated the match, sweeping all three doubles contests. Natalia Furchel and Martine McGowan won at No. 1 doubles due to their opponents’ retirement.MacKenzie Gisler and Kaelin Burnett secured a 6-0 win at No. 2, while Samantha Stolfi and Marybeth Zimos completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory at No. 3.
furchel also won her No. 1 singles match by retirement. Gisler, now the Farmingdale State career doubles wins leader with 51 victories, and McGowan each earned their team-high-tying ninth singles win of the season in the No. 3 and No. 2 flights,respectively. Gabriella Loria, DeMaria, and Heather McGullam rounded out the Rams’ singles victories at positions No. 4 through No. 6.
