BABIRYE MILLY BABALANDA: My Nomination Reaffirms My Mission Of Servant Leadership To Budiope West
As I prepare for nomination tomorrow, I carry with me the hopes and prayers of the people of Budiope West. My focus remains firmly rooted in grassroots progress – improving the daily lives of our constituents through tangible improvements in areas like roads, clean water, health services, education, agriculture, and job creation for our youth and women.
I am committed to advocating for upgrades to our health centers, maternity wards, and emergency services, ensuring no mother or child suffers due to lack of care. Infrastructure is equally vital; I will continue to champion the tarmacking of the Kamuli-Bukungu road and the opening of key feeder roads connecting our trading centers, recognizing that development is hampered where roads are inadequate.
Agriculture will be a priority, with a focus on supporting farmers through cooperatives, access to markets, irrigation schemes, and improved seeds. My aim is to transform farming into a profitable venture that uplifts every household.
For our youth and women, I will build upon existing efforts to bolster Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs), skills training, and access to start-up capital. I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of even small investments – a youth launching a welding business, a woman opening a shop, a young person from the ghetto monetizing their talents. These successes embody the spirit of the NRM’s wealth creation programs, including the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and other presidential initiatives.
I will also continue to defend the rights and livelihoods of our fishermen on Lake Kyoga, advocating for fair treatment, protection, and opportunities to benefit from our natural resources. As the Kasaato Nuclear Project progresses, I will ensure our people are fully consulted, fairly compensated, and provided with job and training opportunities.
My vision is simple: a Budiope West where children don’t endure long walks to school, no mother dies in childbirth, farmers thrive, and our youth are filled with hope.
This vision is deeply inspired by President Museveni and the NRM, a movement that has steered Uganda from chaos to stability and from poverty towards prosperity. The peace and progress we enjoy today must be safeguarded and extended to every household through effective government programs.
This election isn’t about personal ambition; it’s about service, prioritizing people, and ensuring the collective advancement of budiope West. I thank my fellow NRM supporters for their unwavering commitment and the people of Budiope west for their continued belief in me.
I walk to Buyende tomorrow not alone, but supported by your faith, your dreams, and your agenda, ready to carry your voice to the Parliament of Uganda.Let us unite for peace and prosperity, building a Budiope West,Busoga, and Uganda we can all be proud of!
NRM Flag Bearer,Budiope West (2026-2031) and Minister for the Presidency.
