Disney Announces Extensive ”Disney Celebrates America” Programming for U.S.’s 250th Birthday
BURBANK, CA - Disney unveiled a extensive, multi-platform initiative, “Disney Celebrates America,” to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. The programming will span ESPN,ABC News,Disney Parks,Disney Cruise Line,and Disney Consumer Products,with offerings geared toward both the general public and the military community.
ESPN will debut a new sportscenter segment titled “America’s Team,” a nationwide search to identify the sports team that best represents the country. The network will also provide exclusive live coverage of the 2026 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4.
ABC News Studios will present a two-hour primetime special in June 2026, exploring american locales connected to Disney Parks, including New orleans and the American frontier. ABC News will also offer live coverage of celebrations and activations featuring veterans and active military service members globally.
The popular Disneyland and Magic Kingdom fireworks show, “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky,” will be extended to three nights – July 3-5 - across both resorts.
Disney Consumer Products will launch a new military-inspired merchandise assortment at select locations in Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. An additional Americana merchandise collection, including items commemorating the 250th anniversary, will debut in May 2026 at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and DisneyStore.com.
Disney will also offer dedicated experiences for veterans and military families,including special movie screenings of new releases on military bases and in key markets. In November, Disney Experiences will release 2026 offers for eligible service members at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Cruise Line. The company will also expand its participation in the U.S. Chamber Corporate Fellowship and Skillbridge programs, providing professional development and networking opportunities for transitioning veterans.
