Bruce Richardson Named Head Coach for Canada East at World Junior A Challenge
[CITY, PROVINCE] – bruce Richardson will lead canada East onto the ice as head coach at the upcoming 2025 World Junior A Hockey Challenge. The proclamation comes as preparations intensify for the annual tournament showcasing top junior ‘A’ talent.
The World Junior A Challenge is a crucial progress platform for aspiring hockey players, with 13 of the 17 gold medal games in tournament history having featured at least one Canadian team. Canada East, despite a history of near misses – eight silver medals in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2023, and a bronze in 2008 - will look to Richardson to guide them to a first-ever gold. Canada West boasts six gold medals (2006, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2017, 2023) alongside three silver (2008, 2009, 2012) and three bronze (2013, 2018, 2024).
