Saweetie has responded to allegations made by a former acquaintance, denying claims of unpaid debts and misrepresentation of their professional relationship. The rapper addressed the accusations in a statement posted to her instagram Story on Friday (October 17).
The dispute centers around claims made by a woman identifying herself as @maybachmayy on Instagram, who alleged Saweetie failed to compensate her for booking an appearance at chelsea Stadium and for services rendered as a road manager. Saweetie’s statement firmly refutes these claims, asserting they are “false, defamatory, and deeply disturbing,” and that the individual “never managed” her, but was simply introduced through family connections.
According to posts from @maybachmayy, she booked Saweetie for an appearance supporting a soccer team at Chelsea Stadium. She alleges saweetie encouraged a client to withhold payment, and further claims to have assisted the rapper in securing deals while acting as her road manager. One post included a screenshot of a text exchange where Saweetie allegedly discussed leveraging a relationship wiht soccer player Jadon Sancho for financial gain.
“The recent allegations made about me are false, defamatory, and deeply disturbing,” Saweetie stated. “These claims misrepresent the facts and are solely aimed to damage my reputation. This person never managed me. She was simply introduced to me by family. Her motives are now obvious. I’ll let the lawyers take it from here.”
The situation is now expected to be handled through legal channels, as indicated by Saweetie’s statement. The allegations surfaced earlier this month, prompting the rapper’s public response and signaling a potential legal battle.
