Akasa Air Expands Network, Launches Delhi Base with 165 Weekly Departures
New Delhi – Akasa Air announced Friday a meaningful expansion of its domestic and international flight services, establishing Delhi as its third operational base alongside Bengaluru and Mumbai. The airline will operate over 165 weekly departures from the national capital, a 56% increase compared too winter 2024.
The expansion includes new non-stop services connecting Delhi to Kolkata, Bagdogra, and Srinagar, and increased frequencies to major destinations like Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru – reaching up to 5x daily for Bengaluru, 4x daily for Mumbai, and 2x daily for Pune. Internationally, Akasa Air will introduce non-stop flights from Cochin and Chennai to Abu Dhabi and bolster its Middle East presence with a 14% increase in departures from the UAE city, strengthening its codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways.Departures from Jeddah will increase to 26 weekly flights (a 270% rise from winter 2024),and Riyadh will see a frequency increase to 5x weekly.
Currently operating a fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX planes, Akasa Air serves 24 domestic and 6 international cities, operating over 1,000 flights weekly.
