Anaheim Ducks Bolster Defense with Recall of ian Moore

The anaheim Ducks announced today the recall of ⁣defenseman Ian Moore from their American Hockey League (AHL) ⁣affiliate,the San Diego Gulls. This move provides the Ducks with added depth ​on the blue line ⁤as they navigate⁣ the early stages of the 2025-26 NHL season.

Moore, 23, is poised to build upon his NHL experience after making his debut with Anaheim at⁤ the end of the ‌2024-25 season. The recall signifies the association’s confidence in his development adn potential to contribute at ⁣the highest level. He appeared in three games for⁢ the⁢ Ducks last season, registering his first NHL⁢ point -⁤ an assist ⁢- on April 16, 2025, against Winnipeg.

Prior to the recall, ‌Moore had appeared in one game with the Gulls this season, following a collegiate⁤ career at Harvard University where he amassed 9-47=56 points in 122 games from‍ 2021-25. A two-time NCAA tournament participant with the Crimson (2022, 2023), Moore served‌ as Harvard’s‌ captain for two ‍consecutive seasons, culminating in⁤ a senior‍ year​ where he recorded 3-11=14 points and led‌ the team with 60 ⁢blocked shots. He was also a ⁤nominee for the ECAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Ducks originally selected Moore ⁢in the third round‍ (67th overall) of​ the 2020 NHL Draft. Before his collegiate career, he‍ excelled in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with ⁣the Chicago Steel, helping ⁤them win ⁢the Clark cup championship in‍ 2020-21. He registered 10-14=24 points with a +22 rating in 45 regular-season ⁤games and added three assists ​in eight postseason⁣ contests. Moore is currently ⁢listed at 6-3 and 205 pounds. He is under contract‍ with Anaheim‍ through the 2025-26 season, having signed ⁣a two-year entry-level contract on April 12, 2025.
