Downtown ⁢boise will host a second “No Kings” ⁤protest this Saturday, October 18, at teh Idaho State Capitol, continuing a nationwide movement sparked by concerns‍ over actions taken by the Trump governance ⁣and ‌perceived abandonment of constitutional principles ⁤by Idaho’s representatives.⁣ The ‍rally​ is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m., with speakers-including local leaders-taking the‍ stage at 12:30 p.m.

Following a similar gathering ​that drew thousands this summer, the protest aims to mobilize ⁢opposition⁤ to what organizers describe as dictatorial tendencies. the event is​ a partnership between Idaho 50501, Indivisible, and the American Civil Liberties Union, reflecting a ‌broad coalition united by a commitment to upholding the U.S. constitution.⁣ “We say ‘No Kings’ as we believe in America’s founding principles,” explained Sonya Christensen, a spokesperson‌ for Idaho 50501. “We are appalled at how our current Idaho representatives⁢ are abandoning those ⁣principles,‌ and we are here ⁣to stand up for the Constitution of ⁣the United States of America.”
