Manchester United Manager rubén Amorim Acknowledges Ratcliffe Backing, Urges Focus Despite Scale of Challenge
Manchester, UK - Manchester United manager Rubén amorim has welcomed the support of new co-owner Sir jim Ratcliffe but cautioned against complacency, stating the club faces a notable rebuilding process. Amorim emphasized the need for immediate focus, dismissing any sense of extended timelines for advancement.
“We all know how big this club is, so much bigger than them,” Amorim said. “I know that it’s going to take a while, but I don’t want to think like that as it will give a feeling that we have time to work things out. so I don’t want that feeling here in our club.” The comments come after Ratcliffe’s recent investment aimed at modernizing the club’s operations and challenging for titles.
Prior to the international break, goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who joined in the summer transfer window, impressed in United’s 2-0 victory over Sunderland, prompting fans to chant ”are you Schmeichel in disguise?” - a reference to the club’s legendary former goalkeeper peter Schmeichel.
Amorim tempered the enthusiasm surrounding Lammens’ debut, stating, “He is not Schmeichel yet.He is a young guy [23] with talent. He shows a lot of composure. And the fans like it. But again, we [he] need to prove it in the next game.”
