Juventus Reportedly Targeting AC Milan Goalkeeper Mike Maignan
Juventus is reportedly pursuing AC Milan goalkeeper mike Maignan, potentially adding another French star to their roster. The 30-year-oldS contract with Milan is set to expire next June, fueling speculation about his future and opening the door for a move to the Turin club.
Maignan arrived at AC Milan in 2021 from Lille for a reported €15 million and has become a key player, helping the Rossoneri secure the Serie A title in 2022. Though, with contract negotiations seemingly stalled, Juventus, under the leadership of Igor Tudor, views Maignan as an ideal addition to strengthen their goalkeeping position. This potential transfer could substantially impact both clubs’ strategies for the upcoming seasons, as Milan risks losing a vital player and Juventus aims to bolster its squad with proven talent.
Juventus has a long history of fielding successful French players, including Michel Platini, Didier Deschamps, Zinedine Zidane, Lilian Thuram, David trezeguet, Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot, Blaise Matuidi, and Patrice Evra.Adding Maignan would continue this tradition and potentially create a strong French contingent within the team. He would join fellow French players Khéphren Thuram and Pierre Kalulu, the latter being a former teammate from his time at AC Milan.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus is actively attempting to secure Maignan’s services, with club representative Comolli leading the effort. The goalkeeper has made 35 appearances for the French national team and has established himself as a prominent figure in Serie A since his arrival in 2021. A move to Juventus would allow him to continue his career in Italy, albeit with a different club.
