‘SNL‘ Celebrates 50 years with Amy Poehler‘s Return as Host
NEW YORK – Saturday Night Live is back with a milestone episode tonight, October 11, 2025, marking exactly 50 years since the show’s premiere on October 11, 1975. The episode will be hosted by SNL alum Amy Poehler, making her third time at the helm, and feature musical guest Role Model.
While the show’s major 50th-anniversary celebration took place in February, tonight’s episode continues the festivities with Poehler’s return-nearly a decade after her last hosting stint alongside Tina Fey in 2015. Poehler has already been sharing stories with the show’s new featured players, according to NBC Insider. Role Model, also known as Tucker Pillsbury, will be making his SNL debut, and fans are anticipating a performance of his hit song, ”Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” with speculation surrounding who will portray “Sally” onstage.
