Keaton rose to prominence in the 1970s, quickly becoming a defining face of the era. her breakthrough role as Kay Adams in Francis Ford Coppola‘s The Godfather launched her career, followed by a fruitful and celebrated collaboration with writer-director Woody Allen. It was her portrayal of Annie Hall in Allen’s 1977 film that earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress, cementing her status as a leading lady.
