Austrian Politician Iris Stalzer Subjected to Hours-Long Torture by Adopted Daughter, Authorities Say
Vienna, Austria – Austrian politician Iris Stalzer was allegedly subjected to hours of torment and torture in her basement by her adopted daughter, according to investigators. The incident, which prompted a police operation at Stalzer’s home, has led to the adoptive daughter being investigated for perilous bodily harm, tho authorities have ruled out attempted homicide due to the daughter’s subsequent call to emergency services.
The case has raised serious questions about the family dynamics within Stalzer’s household and the welfare of her adopted children. Investigators revealed at a press conference on Wednesday that the children’s father had also previously sustained injuries.As a result, authorities have determined it is not safe to place the adopted children in his care. “Der Spiegel” reported that tensions between Stalzer and her son were also ongoing.
The public prosecutor’s office has stated that the daughter’s act of alerting emergency services is considered a “withdrawal from the act,” and therefore, an arrest warrant has not been requested. The inquiry remains ongoing.
