Shaanxi Province Braces for Continued Heavy Rainfall, Low Visibility
XI’AN, SHAANXI – Residents of Shaanxi Province should prepare for sustained rainfall over the next three days, with potential for heavy downpours and reduced visibility in some areas, according to a forecast issued by the Shaanxi Meteorological Observatory.
Recent rainfall already totaled 56.2 mm. Today, moderate to heavy rain is expected across most of northern shaanxi, including heavy rain in eastern Yulin and northern Yan’an. Guanzhong, parts of southern Shaanxi, and the Qinling Mountains will likely experience light rain or showers, while western and northern Guanzhong and western southern Shaanxi are forecast to receive moderate to heavy rain.
Tonight, conditions will shift, with light rain or showers anticipated in the northern part of northern shaanxi and moderate to heavy rain in the southern part of the region, as well as most of Guanzhong and western southern Shaanxi. Western baoji, southern Xi’an, western and northern Hanzhong are expected to see heavy rain, with scattered light rain or showers possible in central and eastern southern Shaanxi. fog or light fog is also predicted to develop in southern northern Shaanxi, parts of Guanzhong, southern Shaanxi, and the Qinba mountainous areas from tonight through early morning.
The forecast continues into tomorrow with light rain or showers expected in the central and northern parts of northern Shaanxi,and moderate to heavy rains in southern Shaanxi,most of Guanzhong,and western southern Shaanxi.Heavy rains are likely in southern Yan’an, parts of Baoji, northern Xianyang, Tongchuan, northern weinan, and western Hanzhong, with localized heavy rainfall possible in Baoji. Eastern southern Shaanxi will likely see light rain or showers.
The day after tomorrow will bring light rain to northern Shaanxi and moderate to heavy rain to southern Shaanxi, most of Guanzhong, and western and northern Shaanxi. Heavy rain is predicted for southern Yan’an, Baoji, xianyang, western Xi’an, Tongchuan, northern Weinan, most of Hanzhong, and northern Ankang, with localized heavy rain in southern Hanzhong and light rain in parts of eastern and southern Shaanxi.
